Nimanoma is the work of artist, designer and maker Naomi Southon, based in Horsforth, Leeds. Drawing on her background in biology, she creates jewellery ranges influenced by the forms and intricate details found in nature, a fascination that also runs through her wider artwork and photography.
Naomi's process involves manipulating images from her larger artwork and photography, then embedding them in a dome of resin and embellishing them with colourful tiny glass beads to create unique, wearable pieces. Her work carries through it colour and detail, often viewed from a microscopic perspective. Pieces are silver plated, and the ranges are extensive, spanning pendants, earrings, rings and brooches, including matching pendant and earring sets.
Naomi works from a converted garage she calls her studio, and her jewellery and artwork can now be found in gift shops and galleries across the UK.
